Owners for Tamie

“Without owners in this sport, my dreams would come to a screeching halt! The faces you see in the following paragraphs truly are NLE heroes. Thank you for your unwavering support of our program, and most importantly for allowing me to ride your phenomenal horses and entrusting me with their care!” – Tamie

Become an Owner

Tamie is in the process of creating a string of horses to help her reach her goal of representing the United States on the international stage. Thanks to syndication, becoming involved is now possible without the financial responsibilities of sole ownership. Whether you are interested in becoming a partial owner of a future star, buying a new team horse, or adding your current horse to the team, there are many benefits to getting involved including:

  • 100% tax deductible donations (through Southern California Equestrian Sports)
  • The thrill of experiencing Eventing from an Owner’s standpoint
  • Recognition at events
  • Team NLE Gear/Apparel
  • Constant communication
  • Video Communications and updates for syndicate horses

For more information about joining NLE as an owner and becoming a part of the dream, please email us about specific opportunities.

Alan and Kay Needle

Alan and Kay Needle are the owners of the facility where NLE resides. They have been horse enthusiasts for some time and owned horses for world class Reiner Bob Avila. Although retired from the competitive world of the reining and working cow horses, Alan and Kay have joined in to support Tamie and her quest of riding for Team USA!

Alex and Ellen Ahearn and Eric Markell

Alex Ahearn and FamilyAlex came to Tamie in 2013 as a working student and trained with her through the 2014 season, competing Mai Baum through the Intermediate/Two-Star level. Alex and her parents Ellen and Eric asked Tamie to take over the ride on Mai Baum when Alex decided to focus on school, and Tamie is so grateful to have the support of Alex and her family and thrilled to have the opportunity to campaign this once-in-a-lifetime horse. Together Tamie and “Lexus” have had an incredible year, becoming the USEF National CCI3* Champions, and are looking forward to great things in the coming years.

Bob and Vicky Conway

Bob and Vicky have been long supporters of Tamie’s and have been riding with Tamie since 2008. They were original members of the Bubbles @ Bricky Syndicate and are now members of Team Milton. Their continued support and unending compliments have always kept Tamie striving for excellence. The Conway’s are an example of wonderful and loyal owners and it has been a gift to have them as a part of Team NLE.

“We feel lucky to be part of an NLE syndicate.  It is a fantastic feeling to be part of something that has the potential to be great and to succeed at the highest level of competition.  We have all the confidence in Tamie and know that with the right horse there is no stopping her.” – Bob and Vicky

Connie Bowman

Connie originally joined the NLE Team back in 2008 as a client, student and cheerleader. After a few years Connie offered to join in on a syndicate being put together for Tamie and has been a faithful supporter ever since. Connie is currently a member of Team Milton and loves being a part of the thrill of owning an upper level prospect and watching Tamie and her horses excel, now that she is no longer participating in upper level competition.

“The thrill of owning an upper level horse is being able to live the emotion vicariously through the competition since I am no longer able to compete at that level myself!” – Connie Bowman

Dave Smith

Dave’s contributions to the team in Tamie’s words: “Dave is probably the most important piece of NLE and my success! He is not only a wonderful and supportive husband and father, he is hands down the person who helps me through my more difficult times and my darkest moments! Everyone needs a go to man….and he is that for me! Dave volunteers at horse trials as the safety officer, score runner or whatever we can manage to rope him into. I’m not certain that I could ever find a better support system and cheerleader other than my one and only! He has truly been 110% contributor to my success and I’m so fortunate to have him! Thank you honey for scraping me up off the floor when I needed it and popping my ballon when my head started getting a little big.”

Donald Trotter and Pamela Duffy

Pamela Duffy and Donald Trotter are owners of Sunsprite Warmbloods as well as enthusiasts of the sport of Eventing! They have been one of Tamie’s wonderful supporters both as an owner as well as a cheerleader. Pam is very involved in breeding top quality sport horses and is a very big supporter of the Trakehner breed. While Don constructs masterpiece show jumps for several events in California he also donates his time as the ring steward at many of the same events to help them run on time and smooth. The unending support Sunsprite Warmbloods has giving to West Coast Eventing is immeasurable and NLE is so fortunate to have them part of our team!

It is an honor to have such a classy establishment as a part of NLE and we are very grateful to have such a prestigious company supporting Tamie. Judy competed at the 1* level and understands what it takes to produce top-level horses. As a continuous contributor to the sport, she also supports the Young Event Horse Series and the American Eventing Championships.

Michelle and Marcus Parker

parker, michelle 3Michelle Parker has been an Eventing enthusiast since her daughter Claire’s first event in 2005. As her daughter progressed up the levels to the CCI1*, Michelle became more and more involved in the sport of eventing. She currently serves as the Area X Young Rider Coordinator and also volunteers as the Secretary for both The Event at Galisteo and The Event at Santa Fe. In addition, Michelle owns horses both individually and thru syndication for Kim Severson, Heather Morris, and Tamie Smith. Michelle was among the original syndicate owners that brought Twizted Syster to the US from Ireland in late 2012, and is now a member of The Twizted Systers, LLC.

Though her horses compete on both coasts, Michelle resides in New Mexico on a lovely property adjacent to the Goose Downs Farm Cross Country Course outside Galisteo, NM. “It is a huge thrill to wake up looking out over a full Cross Country Course every day and one that has been so pivotal to the sport in the Southwest”, says Michelle. As it is not always possible to attend events that her horses and riders are competing at, Michelle stalks each one via Startbox and Event Entries on most weekends during the Eventing Season. She loves receiving calls from her riders after the individual phases with the blow by blow details of each horse’s performance. Michelle is Financial Advisor, Certified Financial Planner, and a Certified Investment Management Analyst.
