Mackenna Shea grew up in Tacoma, Washington, and took her first riding lesson at the tender age of 6. Mackenna met Landioso, a lovely Bavarian Warmblood gelding and her current upper-level eventing partner, when she was just 14 and he was turning 5. At the age of 19, Mackenna moved to California to train with Tamra Smith of Next Level Eventing and has had tremendous success in her young career to date. She has been competing at the Three-Star level since 2012, Four-Star level since 2015, and has been named to the 25U High Performance Team consistently since 2013. Mackenna Shea is one of the most talented, young competitors in the sport of Eventing, and is certainly one to watch for the future. To keep up with Mackenna’s recent news, check out her blog,
